Principal Appreciation Month
With 27 years in education, Cindy Orthman brings a depth of experience, wisdom, and dedication to her role as principal of Quemado Schools. Her years in education have shaped her into a leader who understands that a great school is built on strong relationships, high expectations, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed.
Cindy is passionate about maintaining high academic standards and ensuring that students receive the quality education they deserve. She believes in the importance of building systems that challenge students to reach their full potential while supporting the teachers who make that learning possible. Through her experience and leadership, she mentors and encourages teachers, sharing her knowledge, offering guidance, and helping them continue to grow in their profession.
Beyond her role as our principal, Cindy is a devoted mother to Katelyn, Austin, Luke, Sean, and wife to Art. Cindy brings heart and care to the many roles she carries. She leads with purpose, works hard for her students and staff, and is committed to building a school where people feel supported, valued, and proud to belong.
And then there is Cindy’s laugh! It is infectious, genuine, and comes easily. If you ever need to find her, just listen for a few minutes. Chances are, you’ll hear that familiar laugh somewhere in the school. It is a small but wonderful reflection of the joy and personality she has brought here to work each day, since 2019.
Cindy’s impact reaches far beyond her title. It can be seen in the teachers she has encouraged, the students she has championed, and the school she continues to help shape. We are grateful for her experience, her leadership, and, most of all, the heart she brings to the work of educating and serving others.
